Any longer than Tuesday and I think Epic runs the risk of driving away millions of players. An update of this magnitude could buck the Tuesday trend, meaning Fortnite could return on Sunday or even on Monday. However, that’s based only on the fact that Tuesday is typically the day of the week in which Epic updates the game. The current speculation is that Fortnite won’t be back on until December 7. It’s unclear how long the transition from Chapter 2 to Chapter 3 will take but if it’s at all similar to the Chapter 1 to Chapter 2 transition, then the popular battle royale game could remain unplayable throughout the weekend. And the last time we saw this type of extended maintenance mode was the end of Chapter 1 when the map got sucked into a black hole after The End event. If you recall, the Black Hole stayed around for around nearly two days, rendering Fortnite unplayable the entire time. Fortnite is currently transitioning from Chapter 2 Season 8 to Chapter 3 of the battle royale game.
